2. Affirmation

Attestto, as the editor and primary implementer of the did:sns DID Method Specification, hereby affirms the following:

2.1 No Known Patent Claims. To the best of our knowledge, the did:sns specification does not require the use of any technology that is subject to patent claims held by Attestto or any of its officers, employees, or contributors. No patent applications have been filed by Attestto that would be essential to the implementation of this specification.

2.2 No Third-Party IP Infringement. To the best of our knowledge, the did:sns specification does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party. The specification builds upon publicly available open standards and open-source protocols.

2.3 Royalty-Free Commitment. Attestto commits to making any contributions to the did:sns specification available on a royalty-free basis, consistent with the W3C Patent Policy and the W3C Software and Document License.

2.4 Contributor Obligation. All contributors to the did:sns specification are required to affirm, upon submission of their contribution, that the contribution does not infringe upon any third-party intellectual property rights and is made available under the same royalty-free terms.

4. Scope of Affirmation

This affirmation covers:

The did:sns DID Method Specification v0.3.0 and all prior versions
The JSON-LD context published at spec.attestto.com/v1/sns.jsonld
The reference implementation (Attestto resolver, TypeScript/Node.js)
The Universal Resolver Docker driver for did:sns

This affirmation does not cover:

The Attestto platform itself (proprietary SaaS product)
Attestto-specific extensions to resolved DID Documents (e.g., tenant branding, custom service endpoints)
Third-party implementations of the did:sns specification

5. Dispute Resolution

If any party believes that the did:sns specification infringes upon their intellectual property rights, they should contact [email protected] with the following information:

Identification of the claimed IP right (patent number, copyright registration, etc.)
The specific section(s) of the specification alleged to infringe
A description of the claimed infringement

Attestto commits to reviewing any such claim within 30 days and, if the claim is substantiated, will work to modify the specification to avoid the infringement or negotiate a royalty-free license.
